How often should I wax my vehicle?
On average, it is recommended to wax your vehicle every three months. However, many factors have to be considered such as where your vehicle is stored, or the harshness of the weather conditions.
Some of the new hybrid wax, can last up tp six months.
Wax does not only provide shine to your vehicle. Wax is also a protectant to your vehicles clear coat. When your clear coat starts to deteriorate, the paint will become susceptible to fading, discoloration and eventually rust.
What is a Ceramic Coating?
Just like wax, a Ceramic Coating is a protectant for your vehicle's clear coat.
Ceramic Coatings are a silica-based liquid polymer (Si02), meaning they are synthetic. Ceramic Coatings are Hydrophobic, which means they repel water, which will assist in eliminating unsightly water spots but more so eliminate paint etching, which is caused by the mineral deposits in water. When water sits on your vehicles surface, those mineral deposit cut into your vehicles clear coat and cause spots on your vehicle which are difficult to remove.
Unlike wax, Ceramic Coatings can last years without having to reapply. We offer coatings that will last 10+ years, and that come with a lifetime warranty. Ceramic coatings have hydrophobic properties, meaning it repels water reducing the likelihood of water spots or worse, etching of your vehicles clear coat caused by mineral deposits in the water.
Most ceramic coatings will also produce a shine that is unmatched by any other paint protection product. A Ceramic Coating is like a thin layer of hardened liquid glass that goes over your vehicles surface.
The preparation of the surface of your vehicle is key to how the coating will adhere to the surface as well as the visual Wow Factor. Once applied, the condition of the surface will be magnified and small imperfections will become more noticeable. For this reason, we have a 5 step process to prepare the surface of your vehicle, which does include polishing to remove or reduce imperfections of your vehicles surface.
What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)?
PPF is a clear thermoplastic urethane film that is applied to your vehicles surface. The film will protect your vehicle from scratches and small dents caused by pebbles and rocks hitting your vehicles surface while travelling down the highway. No doubt, living here in Southern California you have found yourself stuck behind a sand or gravel truck spraying a nice layer of paint and windshield damage in its path, PPF would provide protection.
Most PPF have self healing properties, meaning that when something hits the film and causes a cut or damage to the film, the film will heal itself by sealing the damage. Most need heat in order to self heal, but some of the more advanced films can do this on their own.
PPF does not provide UV protection, so PPF can be waxed or coated just as you would a vehicle without PPF.
